Here’s a peek at some of the fantastic events the Friends of Children and Families Area Board has helped facilitate for the families in our community.
Holiday Party - Dec 2024
We hosted another successful annual holiday party, with a wonderful turnout of families. Guests enjoyed pizza, crafts, a hot cocoa station, and of course, a visit from Santa. Each youth received a few gifts with some special extras for caregivers as well. Families who attended also received a gift bag with chocolates, hot cocoa, a gingerbread kit, and a Target gift card. Big thanks to our DCF administrators and social workers who joined — having you there made the day even more special.
Said one of our youth guests, “This is the best party I have ever been to, literally the best party in my entire life.”
Summer Cookout - Aug 2024
We held an end-of-summer extravaganza sponsored by the Hudson and Marlborough Rotary Clubs, with 70 foster family members joining us for food, an ice cream truck, face painting, games, and crafts. We distributed back-to-school backpacks compliments of KidsNet and welcomed "A Moment of Magic” Disney characters much to the delight of our youngest guests. Huge thanks to the Hudson Portuguese Club for providing the food and to DCF for their support of this event.
Foster Family Appreciation Dinner - May 2024
Dozens of foster families joined us at La Cantina for dinner, prizes, and sharing stories as we celebrated their vital work over the past year. We were joined by a special guest speaker and took the opportunity honor outgoing Framingham Area DCF Director Joyce Nardine for her tireless efforts over the years to improve the lives of foster children and families in our community as she begins a new chapter. Joyce, you will be missed!
Holiday Party! - Dec 2023
It was a great turnout at the Algonquin Regional High School for the annual holiday party - with a pizza buffet, tables full of holiday treats, crafts, gifts, Disney princesses, and of course … an appearance from the one and only SANTA! Thank you to our local supporters for helping to make some special holiday memories for the families in our network.
Hanson Farm Fall Event - Oct 2023
We hosted local foster families at Hanson Farm in Framingham, where children enjoyed crafts, cookie decorating, hayrides, pizza, and a beautiful fall backdrop. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success!
Basketball and Gym Day - Mar 23
Foster youth and their families attended a basketball skills clinic at the Boroughs YMCA in Westboro. Head Coach Brian Doherty and some varsity players from Algonquin Regional High School assisted youth in attendance with shooting , dribbling, and some fun, non-competitive games! Participants also enjoyed pizza, treats, crafts, and a bounce house provided by our area board.
Annual Holiday Party - Dec 2022
Our board provided fun holiday-themed snacks for over 60 foster youth to enjoy at the Annual Framingham Foster Family Holiday party. Youth were invited for an afternoon of crafts, games, sweet treats, and a visit from Santa!
